Probe demonstrates commitment to health and safety with company-wide training
In a move that sets Probe Industries apart from its competitors, the entire team at the North East-based engineering design company has undergone extensive Legionella awareness training under the guidance leading expert in the field, Ian Kershaw.
As part of a specific training course delivered on the request of Probe Industries, Ian Kershaw, Legionella expert for many of the region's local authorities, explained the causes and effects of the poisonous pathogen and what can be done to avoid outbreaks.
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) is clamping down hard on companies seen to be allowing the proliferation of pathogens such as Legionella in a bid to avoid an increase of illness and possible deaths as a result of poor water hygiene.
"Probe Industries works in a sector of business that involves water-handling which, if not maintained properly, could lead to the development of poisonous pathogens such as Legionella," explained Phil Rutherford, managing director of Probe Industries. "However, at Probe we strive to deliver the best odour and dust suppression technologies and employ some of the country's best design engineers to ensure our products reduce the risk of such outbreaks."
The training delivered by Ian Kershaw will enable the Probe team to offer additional peace of mind to its customers.
"Not only can we now offer expertise and knowledge in this tricky area but the design engineers adapt their designs continually to ensure the company's products offer protection against the development of Legionella," concluded Phil Rutherford.
